I think it would be most helpful if file picker exhibited the following behavior…
In the card that pops up have two scrolling lists side by side each having their own search field.
The left column is all “unelected files” the right column is all “selected files” you select files by their check box in either column
between the two columns would be move / move all
pressing the button selected files on either column would transpose position
A move all button like filemaker has when exporting records, which would respect any filtered search.
I think a count indicator of each column would be helpful if you trying to keep a migration or build under a certain number of files
Tool preferences:
- If the meta data exists either as a mouse over file size or a size column with preference to toggle that.
- Option to have the ‘portal’ zebra striped.
